Teacher & Scientist
Engineer by training and teacher by calling. He taught computer science in Puerto Rico in the 1980s, science and physics in Florida schools from 2005, and physics at a university in Paraguay.
University teaching in Puerto Rico (1983)
In 1983 he became a full-time Professor of Computer Science at Inter American University in Caguas, teaching networks, automata theory and telecommunications theory. He also taught at the Ponce Institute of Technology.
Florida classrooms (2005–2014)

After three decades as an engineer, he became a Florida-certified teacher in 2005. His 2009 résumé lists certifications in physics (grades 6–12), mathematics (6–12), Spanish (K–12), computer science (K–12) and business technology (6–12). Explaining the change, he wrote: “As Engineer I moved with the job, following opportunities that took me to different parts of our geography.”
- 2005–2006, Okeechobee: math and science for 132 students in grades 9–12, at a school run by the Washington County School District inside a juvenile-justice facility. He earned his ESOL certificate along the way.
- 2006–2008, Pahokee Middle-Senior High: math and physics for 122 students in grades 7–11, including ESOL intensive math.
- 2008–2009, Design and Architecture Senior High (Miami): integrated science for 10th graders.
- 2014, MOA (Marine Oceanographic Academy): physics.
Catedrático de Física in Paraguay (2011–2013)
In 2011 he shipped his car from Miami to Lima, Peru, and drove across South America and back through Central America: in his words, “1 year travelling (6 mo. going, 6 mo. return). 1 year instructing.” In 2012 he was Professor of Physics at the Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Paraguay. He signed a 2012 note to his readers “Ing. Xoán Xuna, Catedrático de Física, Universidad Nacional de Asunción, Paraguay.” He returned to Florida in 2013 after a round trip of some 10,000 miles.
ZUET: Zeroing in Underground Energy Technologies

ZUET was his idea for “ways to tap geothermal energy in a grandiose scale,” on the website ZUET.com. He registered the presentation with the U.S. Copyright Office in 2008 (TXu 637-935).
His timeline for 2008 reads: “Went to Boston, invited by M.I.T and Harvard University. Presented ZUET.” His pages describe lectures there in April 2008 on alternative energy sources and the impact of global warming, “not only on sea-level rise but in CO2 intoxication of the air we breathe.” He credited his son for the encouragement:
“My son Kelvin gave me the push I needed. Thanks son!”
“Mi hijo, Kelvin, me dio el empujón que necesitaba. ¡Gracias, hijo!”

2008 Preschool Science Symposium, Palm Beach County
The School District of Palm Beach County selected him as a presenter for its 2008 Preschool Science Symposium, held on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Boynton Beach High School. His session, “Zeroing in Underground Energy Technologies,” was a PowerPoint presentation given three times that morning, in 55-minute sessions for 30 to 35 participants each. The district's confirmation letter is reproduced on ZUET.com.

A lifelong scientist

- 1973: laser research at the Nuclear Center of Puerto Rico, as an engineering student.
- 1979: an early article on peak oil, sent to the U.S. Congress and the White House.
- 1991: “US Energy Policy: S.O.S. (Scared Ostrich Syndrome),” a 120-page update on America's energy policy and its risks. It was never published as a book; he later posted it on PetrolSOS.com.
- 1993: master's thesis, “Implementation of a Truly Universal Protocol Stack (TCP/IP and TP4/CLNP with Chromosomes).”
- 1998: a presentation on “High-Speed Optical Networks” at Colorado State University.
- 1999: “SABIO: Searching for Answers in Biology,” a Prolog expert system.
- 2007: DoomedGlobe.com, on atmospheric CO2. He had been concerned about it since 1991.
- Later: research on the Big Bang, black holes and universal constants for a planned book, “Quantum Relativity Theory” (BogusBang.com).
